I know from talking to clients that sometimes you just don’t know where to start with decluttering the wardrobe. This diagram is helpful to start the process of going through the items and either keeping, tossing or donating them.   It is not the clearest diagram and do we need more profanity when decluttering…? (found courtsey of pinterest – http://pinterest.com/pin/11047961557768348/) To assist, here is my decluttered diagram of the above for your viewing pleasure (click on the link). decluttr

I was recently asked to help clear the clutter under the sink for a client. Here is the before   and the after   The two plastic baskets were bought from Carrefour. Both are are large and made of heavy duty plastic to withstand the weight of the bottles and they are easy to clean. The box on the left contains sponges, pet cleaner, anti-bac wipes and other miscellaneous items.  The box on the right contains the mainly used items such as detergent, mop cleaner, bleach, bathroom cleaner, kitchen cleaner, etc.   © 2013 Decluttr Me | All rights reserved Read More

Tip of the Day – Storing wrapping paper

decluttr

Do you bulk buy wrapping paper for Christmas, birthdays and any other reason. Do you have the wrapping paper lying around haphazardly in your home? A simple clean way to store all the wrapping paper is to put them in a suit cover and store the cover in your wardrobe. I bought the suit cover from Daisoo (5AED),  but you could always take one from the man in your life. The Daisoo cover is a bit flimsy so I will be retrieving the nice heavy plastic one from Marks and Spencer, when I visit my family soon in England. Read More

I have a lot of jewellery especially earrings (thanks Primark, H&M and Oasis). Using ice cube trays to separate your jewellery is simple and economical. You can get funky trays in IKEA such as these called Plastis (AED 4 /GBP0.95). Bargain!   © 2013 Decluttr Me | All rights reserved – This post is provided for the convenience of Decluttr Me readers. A simple book case can be used in a variety of ways to clear up the clutter in your life; you can put books, trinkets from your travels, picture frames or use boxes such as this one called Lekman to hide your bits and pieces. I use the Lekman boxes to store my collection of Havianas flip flops, bags and other outdoor attire such as baseball caps and scarves. The boxes can also be used to store paper, children’s toys, etc, and will not be fully visible to anyone who comes into the room. Both items can be purchased in Read More
