How is are you doing with your packing? Hopefully the last few installments have helped you to pay your suitcase and hand luggage. In this installment, we pack your children's luggage.I always suggest you pack separate suitcases for them so that it is easy for them to find their items when needed.  As children can wear the same clothes over and over again, and still get them dirty, its easier to take less clothes and more toys to occupy them.  Take a pack of hand detergent with you such as the one below to wash their clothes when needed. Here are my other suggestions on what to put in their suitcase:

1.  The Medical Kit - When it comes to your little ones, you need to ensure you have the right medicine available, especially for those moments at night when the pharmacy may not be reachable. This washbag from Muji is great for all the family. I suggest you get a separate bag for the family medicine and label it the medicine bag for ease of access.Items that are recommended to put in the bag include:- plasters- antiseptic cream- antiseptic wipes and a small bottle of dettol- calpol/ibuprofen/panadol for kids- digital thermometer- teething gels- anti-histamine cream for bits and stings- medicine for upset tummies- sterliser bag for your bottles - this is especially useful if you have access to a microwave. For the toiletries don't forget:- toothbrush and toothpaste- sunscreen and after care - a high factor is needed for their delicate skin. My top choice would be Nivea for kids which is waterproof and has a high sun factor.- Hand wash- nappies - check if your accommodation has shops/amenities which sell nappies so you can save the luggage space. Same applies for the baby food.- nappy cream- swimming nappies-  travel potty.

2. The Clothes- 1 Jeans, shorts, skirts, trousers - that can be worn more than once. Choose basic colours like blue, black and tan.- 3 Shirts, tops - pick basic colours that mix and match with multiple bottoms.- 1 Pyjamas- Underwear and socks - for all days + 2 sets.- Shoes - 1 pair of tennis shoes, 1 pair of formal shoes and 1 pair of sandals/flip flops. Make sure the shoes are not brand new.- 1 Long sleeved jumper- 1 party / special occasion dress or a nice shirt and pants for the boys.

3.  The Baby Kit - Find out if your accommodation will provide for the baby whilst you are there. If they provide the high chair, baby bath and cot linen, all you will need will be a steriliser.Don't forget the baby monitor (both pieces).

4. The Toy Kit - Give each child their own bag/backpack so that they feel like adult travellers and reduce the amount of luggage you are carrying in your luggage. You want the luggage to be comfortable and easy for them to carry through the airport to the destination.I love these Skip Hop bags which come in different zoo animals. This monkey one will be perfect for my little nephews :).I also love these Thomas the Tank Engine bags and as I feel nostalgic for Disney, these Minnie Mouse bags would be cute for your little princess. Some suggestions to put in the luggage include:- cuddly toy- IPad with books, games, You Tube so they can watch those videos of people opening up toys!- colouring book and crayons. These crayons from Crayola are perfect for little hands and don't roll away.- Small bag of Lego- Toy figurines like Barbie- Small ziplock bag of Toy cars- powdered drinks - Simply add to a bottle of water when your child is thirsty. If flying, you'll be able to take the packets through security and purchase bottled water once you are in the departure lounge.- snacks for the flight such as apple slices and granola bars.

5. The Pool - These items can be bulky but it is cheaper and easier to buy them here rather than trying to find them at the resort.

  • arm bangs

  • bucket and spade

  • tea cups

  • cheap plastic toys to play in the water or your bath time toys.

  • water painting books
