How organised is your wardrobe? How long does it take you to find an outfit for the specific occasion? Few minutes, few hours? These were the questions that were posed to my recent client when decluttering her wardrobe.  She had fitted wardrobes within two bedrooms but also purchased extra cupboards and a wardrobe, plus used drawers under her bed to store clothes and shoes. Our mission was to organise everything into a logical order and get rid of items that were not needed. Here is some pictures of the before.

Whilst going through the cupboard, drawers and wardrobes we found that there were a lot of clothes in all the areas. First we went through them to determine what we could throw away. I also noted that a lot of clothes thrown into spaces; not folded and not separated for use.Once we had decluttered some clothes, the items were divided into the different spaces.

Abbayas and headscarfs all stored in the extra wardrobe.Underwear stored in a separate cupboard using boxes from Ikea to add some discretion. The spare cupboard was used to store books, paperwork and miscellaneous items that were not required on a day to day basis.   All the clothes were moved out of the wardrobe in the spare bedroom, drawers under the bed and drawers in the wardrobes.Instead of being stored in a haphazard way, the clothes were divided into long & short dresses and tops and then hung and separated by colour using the ample wardrobe space in the main bedroom.  Trousers, tops, cardigans and nighttime wear were stored in boxes or in the wardrobe drawers.  Shoes were stored in one bed drawer, but the remaining drawers were left empty. We also found we now had ample space to put extra miscellaneous items in the wardrobe on the top shelf. At the end we had several bags and boxes to throw and recycle away after the long and productive day. :).          If you feel you need help decluttering and organising your wardrobe, click on the contact us form and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
